Stanley Fell was convicted in July 2007 of false accounting and received a two-year suspended sentence.
The CCRC received an application for review of the conviction in March 2015.
This was one of the CCRC’s “Post Office” cases, referred on the basis that the prosecution amounted to an abuse of process and that therefore there was a real possibility the appellate court would not uphold the conviction.

The CCRC referred the conviction in August 2020.
The Court of Appeal upheld the conviction in April 2021.
