Quinn, John
John Quinn was convicted in March 1957 of receiving stolen goods and was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.
The CCRC inherited the application for review of the conviction from the Home Office in March 1997.
Further applications were received in 2002 and 2003.
Following review, the CCRC concluded that fresh witness evidence went directly against the credibility of the evidence of a key prosecution witness at trial.
The CCRC referred the conviction in October 2003.
The Court of Appeal quashed the conviction in November 2004.
