Moseley, Katrina

Published:

Katrina Moseley was convicted in June 1995 of robbery and received a sentence of six years’ imprisonment.

The CCRC inherited an application for review of the conviction from the Home Office in March 1997.

During review, the CCRC obtained new expert psychiatric evidence indicating that Ms Moseley may have been subject to diminished responsibility as a result of psychological vulnerabilities at the time of the offence.

The CCRC considered that these vulnerabilities may have made Ms Moseley subject to duress from her boyfriend, who had pleaded guilty to the offence.

The CCRC referred the conviction in August 1998.

The Court of Appeal upheld the conviction in March 1999.
