Melady, Delroy

Published:

Delroy Melady was convicted in January 2004 of breach of licence and received a sentence of 315 days’ imprisonment.

The CCRC received an application for review of Mr Melady’s sentence in March 2004.

Following review, the CCRC concluded that the sentencing judge had failed to properly credit Mr Melady with time already served after he was administratively recalled to prison due to breach of licence, having previously been released on licence before completing the sentence for an earlier offence.

The CCRC referred the sentence in April 2004.

The Court of Appeal reduced the sentence in April 2004.
