Martindale, Zoe

Published:

Zoe Martindale was convicted in November 1996 of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug and received a sentence of seven years’ imprisonment.

The CCRC received an application for review of the conviction in November 1997.

Following investigation, the CCRC concluded that a key witness for the prosecution had in fact been a police informant and had received payments from the police.

This had not been disclosed to the defence team at trial.

This witness had also given untruthful evidence to court.

The CCRC referred the conviction in February 2001.

The Court of Appeal quashed the conviction in July 2003.
