Hodgins, Gerard
Published:
Gerard Hodgins was convicted in May 1991 of false imprisonment and received a sentence of ten years’ imprisonment.
The CCRC received an application for review of the conviction in August 2007.
During review, the CCRC obtained new sensitive and confidential evidence that gave rise to a real possibility the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal would find Mr Hodgins’ conviction unsafe.
The CCRC referred the conviction in February 2008.
The Northern Ireland Court of Appeal quashed the conviction in October 2008.
