Mr D was convicted in August 2017 of six counts of burglary and received a sentence of 54 months’ imprisonment.
The CCRC received an application for review of Mr D’s sentence in June 2019.
Following review, the CCRC concluded that there was a real possibility, based on new sensitive and confidential information, that the Court of Appeal would not uphold Mr D’s sentence.
The CCRC referred the sentence in February 2020.
The Court of Appeal upheld the sentence in March 2020.
